Phenomenological model for the normal state ARPES line shapes of high
temperature superconductors
   [PDF]

Kazue Matsuyama, G. -H. Gweon
An adequate description of the single particle spectral function observed in high temperature superconductors in the normal state is an important goal, yet to be realized. Here, we show that with minimal phenomenological extension of the so-called extremely correlated fermi liquid (ECFL) model, it is possible to establish a phenomenological model, which is capable of describing ARPES data for different materials (Bi2212 and LSCO), with exceptional fidelity in fitting the data as function of momentum as well as energy.
